A fire door is only as good as the day it was fitted. We supply, install, upgrade and inspect FD30 and FD60 door sets across Wakefield, Leeds and Yorkshire — and leave you with the records to prove it was done properly.

Most failed fire doors aren't faulty doors. They're correctly manufactured door sets that were fitted badly — and a door set that fails on installation offers no more protection than a normal door.
The gap around the leaf is too wide. The intumescent strip has been painted over, or omitted from the head. The closer doesn't pull the door fully into the rebate. Uncertified hinges have been swapped in during a repair. Any one of these voids the certification for the whole assembly, and none of them are obvious from across a corridor.
That matters most in exactly the buildings we work in. In a school, a care home or a busy office, fire doors take a hammering every day — propped open, kicked, slammed, drilled for signage — while being expected to perform perfectly on the one day it counts.
Four stages, no surprises in the middle.
We walk the site, log every door, and identify what needs replacing, what can be upgraded and what's already compliant.
A written, itemised price by door — so you can phase the work across budgets or academic years if you need to.
Scheduled around your building. Holidays, weekends or evenings for live sites, with dust protection and clear working areas.
Every door photographed and documented, handed over as a report you can put straight in front of an inspector.
The number is the minutes of fire resistance the door set is tested to provide. Which one you need is set by your fire risk assessment, not by preference.
| FD30 | FD60 | |
|---|---|---|

Not sure which your building needs? Bring us your fire risk assessment and we'll price against it. If you haven't got one, we'll tell you that too.

Every operative on our team holds full DBS clearance and asbestos awareness training, and we work to CHAS-approved health and safety standards. That means we can be on site while your pupils, residents or staff are still in the building — which is usually the only way this work ever gets done.
There isn't one interval that covers every building. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must keep fire doors adequately maintained — how often that means depends on the building and its use.
For residential buildings above 11 metres, the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 are specific: quarterly checks on communal fire doors and annual checks on flat entrance doors. For schools and commercial premises, six-monthly is the common industry recommendation, and quarterly in very high-traffic areas.
Our maintenance packages build these checks into a scheduled programme so they don't get forgotten.
Yes. Most of our school work is done in holidays because it's simpler, but we regularly work term time with sealed and screened working areas, out-of-hours starts, and doors made good and secure before pupils return each morning. No opening left unsecured overnight.
Often they can be upgraded. Worn or missing intumescent strips, failed closers, uncertified hinges and excessive gaps are all fixable on an otherwise sound door set, and it's a fraction of the cost of replacement.
What can't be salvaged is a leaf that's been cut down, drilled through or damaged past its certification, or a frame that isn't fire rated. The survey tells you which doors fall into which category before you commit to anything.
A written report covering every door on the schedule, with photographs, the specification fitted, and any remedial recommendations for doors outside the scope of the works. It's built to go straight into your compliance file.
It depends on the door set specification, the condition of the existing frames, access, and whether the work is in or out of hours. We don't publish a per-door figure because it would be meaningless without seeing the site.
The survey and the written quote are free, and the quote is itemised by door so you can phase the work if the budget won't stretch to all of it at once.
